The Copper Mark is a leading quality assurance system to promote responsible production practices in the metallic raw materials industry and covers environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. As part of this commitment, Boliden Harjavalta will undergo an external, independent assessment from September 15 – September 17, 2026, to ensure that its operations meet the standards of The Copper Mark.
The site will be assessed in the following areas:
- Environmental protection and sustainable use of resources
- Responsible sourcing of raw materials
- Human rights and labor rights
- Health and safety
- Community engagement and stakeholder involvement
- Business integrity and governance
Stakeholder Engagement
As part of the certification process, selected stakeholders are invited to engage with the appointed assessor and to provide any information they consider relevant to the assurance process. Stakeholders’ input will be valuable in helping to ensure a comprehensive and balanced assessment.
Stakeholders can always raise concerns or complaints related to Boliden’s operations through the whistleblower reporting portal. All reports are handled confidentially and reviewed promptly.
