The hunt for precious metals – with Edvin Anger

Follow cross‑country skier Edvin Anger deep underground in Boliden’s gold mine. The campaign is part of Edvin’s collaboration with Boliden and highlights both his determined commitment to the sport and how modern, responsible mining works in practice – an expression of Boliden’s long‑term engagement in the local community and sustainable societal development.

Episode 1 — Where the hunt for gold begins

In the first episode, we follow Edvin down into the mine, to a depth of around 670 meters. There, we see how drill holes are driven deep into the rock to retrieve core samples for analysis. Geologists examine these samples carefully to determine where the gold‑bearing ore is located and how the mining should be planned. Since gold is rarely visible to the naked eye, advanced methods are required to identify these valuable deposits.

How does an elite athlete prepare to reach their goals?

From training sessions out in the ski tracks to recovery, nutrition and competition strategy — you can follow it all on Edvin Anger’s YouTube channel. There you can also watch full episodes from his training camp in Gällivare.
