Odda

The Odda Zinc smelting plant produce pure zinc, zinc alloys, sulfuric acid and aluminium fluoride.

Odda was founded in 1929 and is located on the west coast of Norway. About 80 per cent of the raw material comes from Boliden's own mines in Sweden and Ireland, the rest from mines in Canada and Peru. The zinc clinker comes from Boliden copper smelter in Rönnskär. The raw materials for production of aluminium fluoride are fluoridespare  from Marocco and South Africa, aluminium hydrate from Ireland and Spain and sulfuric acid from the zinc plant.

93 per cent of the production at Odda is exported, mainly to the steel industry in Britain, France, Germany, Benelux and Scandinavia. Aluminiumsluoride is an additive to aluminium industry and 75 per cent of the production is sold in Norway.

Boliden Odda employs 321 people and is the largest private employer in Odda municipality.
