One sunny Saturday in the autumn of 2010, Harjavalta opened its doors for a family day when over 260 relatives took the opportunity to visit the smelter. The aim of the day was to tell the visitors about our operations and let them see for themselves how the manufacturing process works.
After an introductory safety film, all of the visitors were kitted out with both helmets and hi-vis vests. The children were given their own factory passport in which they could collect stamps from the various points on the guided tour, to keep them interested, with a small surprise waiting at the end of the tour for anyone who had collected all of the stamps.
