Palladium/Platinum concentrate is a bi-product from our precious metal process of gold and silver. Boliden has two precious metal plants, one in Pori, Finland and one in Rönnskär, Sweden.
The product is in the form of a concentrate or "sponge" and the quality of the concentrate varies depending on the material input at each smelter. The material springs from the Cu-smelters and mainly from secondary raw material.
Boliden does not produce the metal themselves to a "good delivery standard" and considers it as an intermediate or bi-product.
