New drift to deposit at the Kristineberg mine

Boliden has decided to drive a new drift down to a previously reported zinc and copper deposit in Rävliden at the Kristineberg mine in the Boliden Area. The deposit is judged to be an important part of the continued development of the Boliden Area.

“The drift will be designed with both further prospecting and possible future production in mind,” says Mikael Staffas, President Boliden Mines.

The decision on a new drift is being taken in light of the new mineral resource Rävliden that was reported in February 2016. The drift, which will be driven during 2017 and 2018, will be 3 kilometres long and will run from the Kristineberg mine to Rävliden at a depth of 1000 metres.
