Rönnskär elected Electronics Recycler of the Year

The copper smelter Rönnskär has been elected "Electronics Recycler of the Year". The award was presented at the grand Recycling Gala in Stockholm on 1st December, organised by the magazine, Recycling och Miljöteknik.

The motivation reads: The Electronics Recycler of the Year has made special efforts for electronics recycling in general, and the environment in particular. Through its initiative, the winner has created a better understanding of the importance of recycling this special and valuable material, and demonstrated that the basis for necessary and significant recycling opportunities is a long-term vision for the future.

Rönnskär's General Manager, Roger Sundqvist, attended the gala:

"When our new e-Kaldo plant comes online at the turn of the year, Rönnskär will be the world's largest recycler of electronic scrap. This award is evidence of the fact that our activities are important in a sustainable society. Boliden not only extracts new metals from the mines, we also take responsibility for the products we release onto the market by recycling them in a large-scale and environmentally sound manner," he declares.
