Mine-site exploration
Boliden's strategy in recent years has been to prioritise mine-site exploration. New discoveries close to existing mines save both time and resources, because the infrastructure and equipment is already in situ. Mine-site exploration is being carried out at all mines in Sweden and Ireland.
Field exploration
Field exploration means exploring in new areas. Developing new deposits is also associated with higher costs, greater uncertainty and longer time horizons than is the case with mine-site exploration. Field exploration is currently being carried out in several locations in Sweden and Ireland.
