A diverse Boliden is, quite simply, a better performer
Compliance by Boliden with equal opportunities legislation in the countries in which we operate is a fundamental prerequisite of achieving increased diversity and equality. All units must, in addition, draw up and implement an equal opportunities plan. We apply a policy that rejects every form of discrimination and harassment based on an employees' gender, age, political views, or other grounds.
Diversity Policy
Boliden endeavours to achieve a high ethical standard by manifesting honesty, fairness and a willingness to accept responsibility in every decision and action. For further details, please refer to Boliden's Code of Conduct.
Diversity
People are different – in terms of gender, ethnicity, age, disability, religion and sexual orientation, but also when it comes to experience, education and values. Collectively, these aspects constitute diversity, which makes for new ideas and perspectives and variation in behaviour and approaches. This is part of the company's overall set of competences and is a resource for achieving the Group's goals and successes.
Boliden's commitment to diversity
Boliden and its employees shall:
- Refrain from all forms of discrimination and harassment on the basis of gender, ethnicity, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation or any other factor.
- Always see to the person's competence, and disregard aspects such as gender, ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation or other circumstances.
- Strive to ensure that Boliden is perceived as an equal opportunity employer in every respect described above.
- Support employees in their ambition to achieve a healthy balance between working life and private life.
- Forcefully act against and counter any incidence of discrimination or harassment.
Operational consequences
It is therefore the responsibility of our operating units to turn the diversity policy into concrete action plans. This, in turn, requires each individual employee to be familiar with the non-discrimination legal framework.
If an instance of discrimination or harassment should occur within a Boliden unit, the employee affected should initially raise the matter with his or her manager, and in the second place, with the company's HR function or make use of the whistle blower function.
